Born in 1944 in Germany, Karin Mayer's interest in drawing and painting began at high school. Influenced by her father and encouraged by her teachers, she developed her love of aquarelle watercolour painting at an early age.

Following her school education, she studied at the art academy in Germany for 7 semesters and graduated as a jewellery designer and creator. Here she worked at the highest level of design. From the academy Karin moved on to work for one of the most respected jewellers in Germany.

Even during her marriage and the raising of a family, Karin's passion for aquarelle painting did not diminish. She has exhibited and sold her works throughout Europe, including Germany, The Netherlands, Italy and Belgium. Her paintings have also proved to be popular in the U.S.A.

Karin now lives in Belgium and continues to paint.
