When the buyer receives his artwork we release the funds to you less 10% commission and 3% credit card processing fee.
How do I get Paid?
We can pay you through PayPal in any currency you want or by bank transfer in either Pounds Sterling or Euros. We can also pay you by cheque but only in Pounds Sterling. You can choose which method best suits you for each sale.
What do I need to join?
Images of your art on your computer. If you wish to become a fully paid member with no adverts on your gallery space, you will need a credit card, debit card or PayPal account.
How many items can I display?
You can display up to 20 items but you can upgrade your account at any time to display a further 50 items for an additional fee of €50.
What items can’t I display on Art in Europe?
Do not post anything that is not art. If it wouldn’t be on display in an art gallery, don’t display it on Art in Europe. We regret that we can no longer accept prints for any section other than Digital Art (art produced on a computer). We reserve the right to refuse any image that we feel is unsuitable.
Can I offer prints for sale on Art in Europe?
Art in Europe is aimed at promoting original art for sale. We regret that we can no longer accept prints for any section other than Digital Art (art produced on a computer).
I don’t live in Europe, can I still join?
No, membership is only available to artists located in Europe. You can of course be any nationality whatsoever but your paintings must be located in one of the European countries listed in our registration form. This is because we do not have the facilities to calculate import tax or comply with distance selling legislation of other countries.
Why must delivery be included in the price of my art in the online shop?
To keep matters simple for the buyer we insist that all prices include delivery to any address in mainland Europe including the UK. If a buyer requires delivery outwith Europe then they can request a quote for the additional cost. You have the final descision as to which countries you are prepaired to ship to.
Which delivery method should I use?
It depends on the size and value of the art. You can post it by Registered Mail or any Post Office “Signature Required” service. If you are sending a large or particularly valuable piece then its best to use a courier service eg. DHL, UPS etc. These companies offer a trackable and insured service. Please Remember, if you are selling online through Art in Europe you do not get paid until the buyer has received his artwork in good condition, on very rare occasions a buyer might claim that they haven’t received the parcel - a signature helps.
How do I calculate the cost of delivery?
Check out the links on our Useful Links page, obviously you will not know yet where the art will be sent to yet but if a service has 3 zone prices for Europe and you cost delivery on the basis of zone 2 then sometimes you will win and sometimes you will loose. Note we do not endorse any of these companies, the page is merely there for your convenience.
When I am notified of a sale, how quickly do I have to send the artwork to the buyer?
Within 3 working days. If this is not possible for any reason then please notify us as soon as possible as we have to notify the buyer who may then either cancel the order or agree to wait.
Can I put a link to my own website from my gallery?
Yes, if you send an artist’s statement and include the web address, it will appear there.
Do you allow advertising on the site?
Yes, but never on the gallery pages of fully paid members
